This book was complex with a surprise ending that everyone enjoyed.  It is told from three perspectives and different time periods, which moves the mystery forward.  Iris Lockhart, owner of a vintage clothing store, receives a phone call that changes her life: her great-aunt Esme, who she did not know existed, is begin released from a mental hospital after more than sixty-one years.  Her grandmother, and Esme’s sister, Kitty, never acknowledged her existence.  Why?  It is a intricate story of secrets and losses and the great harm family can do to each other.
