Author: Audrey Niffenegger

Twin sisters living in the suburbs of Chicago inheret an apartment in London from their aunt whom they have never met. As a condition of their inheretance, they must live in the flat which borders Highgate Cemetery, without their parents for one year. This story tells of their intense relationship with each other, their new neighbors, and the secret between their own mother, who is the twin of their deceased aunt.

We loved the way Audrey Niffenegger writes… she has great descriptions and turns of phrase… the subject matter was a bit far-fetched and we didn’t like most of the main characters. We liked Martin and his wife and wish that they had been more developed. While the idea of coming back from the dead was far-fetched, many could just “go with it” like they did with the Time Traveler’s Wife because that idea was far-fetched, too… and because the author tells a good story. She also truly knows and loves Highgate Cemetery. We gave this book 7 Bees.
