Set in the South during the beginning of the civil rights movement, this book is about the feelings/lives of black maids as they work for their white families. The book is written by a white woman who was raised by her beloved black nanny.

Very well-liked. Several found they picked up the book frequently; some even said they didn’t want it to end. Really an excellent read. We gave this book 8 Bees.
